Pilates

sessions
Open Studio is the way Joseph Pilates designed and ran his studio in New York in the 1960s. It’s our way too.
During the Open Studio sessions you will move through ‘your order’ of the original classical Pilates sequence from the Jay Grimes lineage. This is Pilates as designed and applied by Joseph Pilates himself, it’s called ‘Contrology’ and it’s a system of exercises. The system is layered and designed to build strength, flexibility, spine health, general wellbeing, and with your commitment, amazing results and a never ending approach to movement. You work within the parameters of the system and personalise the exercises to support your overall enjoyment and successful outcomes. Via this approach, you can train in-studio or online (via Zoom), allowing you to travel, move around for work or sign in whilst you or family members may be unwell.
After completing a new client Introduction Package, which includes 2 x 1 : 1 sessions, you’ll have your own sequence of exercises, we call this ‘ your order’ it’s drawn from the system and adapted specifically for your body, with that you’re ready to move into Open Studio sessions. In these sessions, you can either workout online with the equipment you have available, or you learn to use the original Pilates equipment in-studio. You’ll move between reformer, mat, tower, chairs and other apparatus. As you develop familiarity with ‘your order’, we add in more exercises, and develop the principles of the Contrology approach. You will feel body and mind align and never be bored.
Teacher mentoring
and workshops
Simply, I love teaching movement to people and believe that Pilates is for the people and that all teachers need support as they build their career and master their craft.
I’ve been training teachers and mentoring for over 20+ years and continue to make sure that I am trained and mentored by amazing people too. I believe that for an enduring and rewarding career that isn’t about hype, but is fuelled by your true reason for teaching and wanting to support others, we all require mentoring.
I have supported business, individuals and teams, helping them to re-ignite their teaching fuel with rewarding workshops and education. I’m also often asked to present at industry retreats, trainings, and events. I believe in sharing what it is that I have learnt, so that we can have an enriched and engaged community of teachers who know how to build each other up and support clients for great outcomes.
